My husband and I couldn't have had a better moving experience! JK Moving's employees were very professional and friendly. They handled all of our boxes and furniture with great care. They arrived on time and were very efficient in moving everything out of our old location. They did a remarkable job of moving our baby grand piano up a difficult flight of stairs. All of our possessions were relocated without any damage and placed where we designated prior to the movers' departure. I would highly recommend this company!
Had an outstanding experience with JK Moving Services for my recent move from VA to TX, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless, on schedule, and professional.
Dustie Fisher, the move coordinator, is very professional and communicated with me throughout the entire moving process. Ms. Fisher responded to my questions promptly and provided clear details on what to expect on moving day. She also checked in during the move to make sure everything was going smoothly.
Mr. Miguel Lopez and his team are outstanding! They arrived on time and were incredibly professional and courteous. They introduced themselves, assessed the situation quickly, and worked efficiently without wasting any time. They double checked with me on a couple items on whether to pack them and also asked me to ensure everything was packed up. I was impressed by how they handled my items with care. Fragile items were adequately packed, and all my furniture was wrapped and protected to prevent any damage during transit. Protective covering waa placed on the floors to prevent damage. Additionally, they are trustworthy!! A very expensive watch and ring fell out of the safe when they delivered it to the warehouse. I had searched the safe multiple times for the watch and had been looking for it for months. Left the safe door open for them to search before packing it up. Nothing was found until they delivered my things to the warehouse. Miguel called me and told me the watch and ring fell out of the safe. I was pleasantly surprised and in tears. Immediately drove out to the warehouse to pick it up. This is integrity.. WOW!
My items arrived on schedule, in perfect condition, and the delivery crew was just as professional and courteous as Miguel and his team on the pickup end in VA. I was ecstatic when I unpacked all my belongings and nothing was damaged.
The delivery truck driver, Franklin, contacted me the evening before my move to inquire about the parking at my apartment complex located near busy downtown Dallas for an 18-wheeler. Early the next morning before 0600 (move started at 0700), I saw the 18-wheeler perfectly backed up into the circular driveway in front of the complex securing the most ideal place to access the freight elevator while allowing cars plenty of space to use the driveway. The security and concierge staff told me they have never seen a driver be able to do this. We were all super impressed!!
When Franklin's team arrived on time to help unload the truck, they hustled while taking great care. They assembled some extremely heavy furniture for me and ensured everything on the itemized list was checked off, delivered, and assembled, if required. Before they departed my home, they ensured everything was all set and that I was happy.
JK Moving Services was transparent with the price estimate and the estimated weight being moved. No surprises. The high-quality service and professionalism JK Moving provides is well worth the price!
I wholeheartedly recommend trusting them with your relocation. They exceeded every expectation I had, and I will certainly hire them again for my next move.
Most of the many problems with our international move were minor, but taken sum total they were absolutely unavoidable and unnecessary. I will say we started strong with Matthew, our Moving Consultant. He was the first contact we had and he was just amazing. Made figuring out the estimate super easy and almost fun, and made us feel valued and appreciated. That value and appreciation ended with him, however.
Our relationship with the Move Coordinator was much less cooperative or productive. I’m not sure he was even in our time zone to be honest, and communication with him was impossible by both phone and email. Communication issues become a common thread, and while not specific to the Move Coordinator, it was with him that there should have been the most contact, since he was responsible for….well, coordinating the move.
You can’t simply call someone at JK. You have to go through this odd phone tree/voicemail thing, even as a customer who’s put down the deposit. Not great when there are issues.
And, issues there were. Overcharges and being charged for things that never materialized, like a parking pass that wasn’t even applied for, despite being charged for. Being charged for a shuttle, when the actual container was delivered. Weights that didn’t make sense. A 10% guarantee (their words, not mine) that wasn’t calculated into our final fee. Things like that add up, and seems like either incompetence or a money grab, or both.
I don’t want to say the incompetence extended to the moving crew. They were wonderful and extremely hard working but less than an hour into the move they weren’t sure everything would fit, despite us paring down a significant amount to get into the smaller container. The issue was actually due their their small stature, they couldn't reach high enough to fully pack the container. This is where communication became an issue; no one was answering phones (on any of their lines), and 9 am moves are great unless your coordinator is on West Coast time. The fix was simple; we used a ladder to fully pack the container, but why was that my job to figure out?
Other communication issues persisted even after our items departed for shipping. Despite multiple calls to our Coordinator, and even his manager, they went unanswered. Crucially, we could never get an answer from our Move Coordinator about insurance. What should have been quoted well before the move, was actually quoted once it was on board the ship. We felt very much held hostage by his reluctance or incompetence…luckily in the end, our items arrived undamaged and despite paying for the insurance, it was unnecessary to file any claims. It would have been nicer knowing up front what it was going to be however.
We were quite fortunate to have an excellent coordinator for the other end of the move in Europe. They were amazing, and we were quite fortunate to have them. They were amazing, professional, concise and responsive. They were NOT part of JK Moving, and it showed.
We were able to occasionally get in contact with another coordinator, Courtney. She was awesome, and luckily filled in the many gaps as the original coordinator was unresponsive or overwhelmed or just didn’t care. She went above and beyond (or maybe just did the job that should have been done?) and offered a little bit of hope.
We were excited to choose JK Moving, as they seem to have a reputation of excellence and dependability. They proudly proclaim that they move the White House. It was apparent to us that they may actually do that, but it was not with the team we were assigned. Not sure if anyone at JK Moving reads this, or even cares, but we never had a follow up from anyone after the move, except to ask for more money for an incorrect invoice over 2 months after shipment. I have receipts, and I have nothing to gain from embellishment. You would have nothing to gain from using JK Moving’s services except more unnecessary stress on an already stressful situation.
Moving living room furniture from Falls Church, VA to Leesburg, VA
Today had a pleasant experience with two professional movers from JK Movers.
I live in a high rise condominium and for the first time, witnessed where the movers protected my front door and frame with covers to prevent damage to the door and to the furniture being moved out.
They wrapped all the furniture with blankets and then sealed with plastic wrap.
I knew there was going to be a challenge moving the heavy leather couch out the front door because the backside of the couch is curved vs a straight line. The two movers were able to figure it out and accomplished the task.
My hats off to the two professional movers and JK Movers. It was a pleasure doing business. Thank you!?
We had two trucks and two 4 man crews from JK Moving. They were extremely hard working and courteous, and put in tremendous effort from 8am-3pm to pack our large house. Not one item was scratched or broken. We moved across town, so the moving into the new home began around 4:30pm. Without any noticeable stop for dinner the crews worked like crazy until 11:30pm and finished the move. Even near the end of their exhausting day they were so careful with everything and all had smiles on their faces. We were stunned at how good the JK service was. Bravo!!
We have used JK Movers three times and each time they have been great. This last time, however, the two men I worked with were fantastic! I was informed of any changes, they were polite, helpful, professional, funny, and all around wonderful guys! They were efficient and went above and beyond when they delivered our belongings to storage. They made sure to stack things in such a way they are easily accessible.
JK Moving made mine and my wife’s state to state move simple, easy, and affordable. They provided a quick quote using video call, gave us a quote that covered our needs, showed up on time for both packing the truck, and delivery day. There was a 6.5 hour distance from destination and it was a holiday weekend that they did NOT charge extra for! The movers were friendly, courteous, and helpful to make our stress of the day remain calm. I would highly recommend working with JK Moving.
I had to move almost everything out of my historic Capitol Hill townhouse on short notice, including valuable oil paintings and antique French furniture, to accommodate a major renovation project. I was especially impressed by the expertise and professionalism shown by JK's on-site estimator, Joseph Modes. The packing team was cheerful and very careful; the high-value items were well-crated; and the moving team got everything out and into the truck smoothly in less than a day without incident. The total price was in-line with what other companies quoted, but the quality of the service was exceptional. I am a retired State Department officer, and I have moved many times. I wish all my pack-outs had gone as smoothly as this one. Happy to recommend JK Moving to anyone needing a really professional moving and storage team.
I selected JK Moving because they are supposedly an employee owned company with a stake in quality customer service. While their marketing and administrative staffs are very professional, where they fail is with the local crews they hire to load and unload furniture. The loading crew damaged the brick threshold of the house dragging dollies across it, even though I was told later that company policy forbids the use of dollies in the house. The loading crew was inexperienced in moving large furniture and damaged walls coming down the stairs. Worst of all, at unloading it was clear numerous of pieces of fine furniture were damaged in transit - a cracked wooden table leg, table tops bent from their bases, scrapes, chips of wood missing, rub marks on adjacent pieces of furniture etc. I had expressly stated that avoiding damage to furniture was my top moving concern (not cost!), but that did not seem to matter. The loading took over 14 hours (9Am to 1:30AM the next day). The driver led the team and had to direct the movement of the furniture from the house, as well as pack the truck. Clearly they needed at least 2 individuals with moving and packing experience for this 24,000 pound move. Damaged furniture was the result of the lack of time and attention for packing. Some of the unloading crew was great and careful, others placed boxes clearly marked "fragile" with arrows indicating "up" beneath other heavy boxes and on their sides or upside down. At least a half a dozen bookshelves had the support pins for the shelves missing. While the truck driver and his chief assistant were very pleasant and attempted to make things go well, the packing of the furniture was not done well. For a move costing over $13,700, I expected much better care. For these reasons, I would not recommend JK Moving Company.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, customer feedback is how we continue to grow as a company. We have talked with the crews and reminded them that they are not to use dollies in the house. We want to take a moment and remind you that you have 9 months to send in your claims form. Please remember, you can only submit one claim form. Thank you again for leaving your review.
Having moved 7 times in 12 years we were sold on the sales pitch from JK. Unfortunately , they do not deliver. This was the most unprofessional move I've ever experienced. From start to finish it was poor but on arrives in Charleston the crew was inexperienced (ever the driver complained about who he had). They dropped the TV, lost the vacuum, broke tables. What a mess. Then, having dropped the TV only offered 50% of it's replacement cost and refused to pay for the vacuum! They basically gave me back my insurance premium. I didn't even cash the check. I don't need the money and can buy a new TV and vacuum. But I do need reputable company to move me next time. Avoid this cowboy outfit!
Ps , funnily JK also solicited my business for a relo contract recently.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your move did not go smoothly.
To address your crew concerns, those crew members are no longer retained by our company. We strive to employ trained, well-qualified staff to conduct our customers’ moves, and they did not meet our expectations.
Regarding the damage to your belongings, we understand that you filed a claim. We reimbursed you the appropriate amount, according to the level of valuation coverage that you elected to purchase, and its related deductible.
We value and learn from all customer feedback, so we appreciate your review.
Ok, I'm normally not one to do reviews but my husband sent me a pic of our storage units being loaded during our move. How many things can you find wrong with that picture? And there's no telling how much he didn't see or the true amount of damage that was done.
Not to mention, there were scratches on our $4k rosewood bed, the movers left our stuff unintended in the halls, did quite a bit of bldg damage and broke the freight elevator. Did I mention it took 4 guys 8.25 hrs to move 3 tons LESS stuff than the 3 man crew JK Moving sent last time? They only took 10 hours and that included travel time from C'ville to RVA? AND we were moving within the same bldg so this technically was an easier move than before!
This was our 4th or 5th move with JK Moving and I could have chalked it up to one bad experience IF a supervisor hadn't called me for the sole purpose of confirming my credit card number to pay the reminder of my bill. No discount of any kind was offered or given when I asked b/c of the bad service/damage. She also humored me regarding my "concerns with the move" after she confirmed said payment.
I didn't need to be humored nor did I ask to speak to a supervisor. She acted as though the movers did nothing wrong even though she had pictures that proved otherwise! She was all about getting my money and not about keeping a loyal customer of almost 10 yrs. I didn't have a problem paying more for their supposed "high-quality" services. I have a problem when I don't get what I paid for!
I used to recommend JK Moving to everyone but NEVER again! .
JK Moving Services moved my wife and I from Hamilton, Virginia to Purcellville, Virginia in 2018. It was the fifth time JK has moved us over the past 20 years. It was another great experience.
We were in that house in Hamilton for almost 15 years. We acquired quite a bit of stuff in that time. In addition to a 7 bedroom house, we had a garage, barn and several outbuildings of accumulated belongings. Our stuff included antiques, musical instruments, etc. etc.
Everything was packed with care. The crews were excellent. The team worked tirelessly for 12 hours and our move was completed in one day. The team was friendly and professional. Eric Vislay, our move coordinator was excellent and visited during the move -- even brought donuts for the team.
My wife is one of the top selling real estate agents in Loudoun County. She has exclusively recommended JK to her clients for over a decade.
Thanks to Chuck Kuhn and every team member at JK Moving Services. You got us through another move and we will be forever grateful. A great value for the money!
WARNING! Do not hire these people. I thought I did research enough to hire JK for my move from Austin to Oakland. They market themselves as a attentive mover that goes to great lengths to take care of you throughout the process and also the movers will take care of your personal belongings.
#1 Bad service from the start. They don't have a live person on the phone with you when they ask you to video your belongings. So, you are left to record the items and submit without being able to explain anything or ask a question. Other companies will have a live person with you as you record with your mobile device.
#2. Be careful b/c their fine print states a minimum weight they will charge you for even if your weight is considerably less. I did notice this upfront and told them I wasn't going to reach their minimum weight and so after going back and forth with at least 3 different sales people they agreed to lower my minimum weight.
#3 deceiving way they estimate. They tell you estimate is based on the weight and mileage of the move. BUT, THEY WON'T BREAK DOWN THOSE COSTS. So, when they lowered my minimum weight, I wanted to know the savings. And b/c you can't get in touch with their people for days -- playing phone tag, by the time your move date comes, you have no other choices to go with another moving company.
#4 The day prior to delivery when I had to ask for my updated invoice for the move, they informed me they made an error on the estimate by estimating from the wrong staring zip code. It's true they did, but instead of charging me from the zip code they made the MISTAKE of using, they told me I had no choice but to pay the NEW AND HIGHER AMOUNT based on my correct Zipcode. When I said that mistake was theirs and should not be passed on to me as the customer, they threatened to put my belongings into storage until I paid. I had no choice and they refused to accept their mistake. What happened to customer service?
I have used many professional moving companies over the years from across town moves to multi state moves. I would say this was the worst moving company thus far. First, the estimation process was inadequate. The day the moving truck arrived, it was already half full with someone else's items. The movers tried their best, but they had to end up strapping several items to the back of the truck, exposed to the elements. Then the movers had to travel to another client with our stuff on board to deliver half of the truck. This was not explained to us in the quoting process. We contacted the company to explain our frustration, and they shrugged it off stating this was common policy. BTW...this company is FAR from cheap, so I expected more for the money.
The boxes they used were cheap. Most of them buckled under minimal weight. Little care was taken in the packing and storage. Heavy items were placed on top of lighter boxes. Fragile items were not treated any different. We ended up with a couple broken items and a bent corner of our TV.
To top it all off, the guys who hooked up our dryer hooked it up incorrectly, failing to tighten a wire. This caused an electrical short (arc) which was hot enough to burn through the back panel of the dryer! Luckily, our dryer was a newer/smart dryer and shut itself off to prevent a house fire. This was a severe safety hazard! We had to end up getting a new dryer for which we made the company pay.
I would not recommend this company as they were incompetent from the start. The estimation process was way off, driving up the cost. No care in packing. Boxes were cheap. Damage to appliances. Look elsewhere for movers.
Positive Experience with them. Affordable and well organized. Presented a schedule and stuck to it. Very communicative keeping us well aware during the whole process. Only weakness is their online KK Hub which is not updated. I expected billing to be posted on the hub but instead was handled through e-mail, rendering the hub useless.
I have used JK Moving for my own moves, so decided to use them to move my mother. The movers showed up on time and were mindful of packing things in the truck and wrapping nice pieces. Everything g was delivered on time and nothing was broken. I’ll use them for ghe next move too.
I The absolute best in movers. I have moved 12 times. The last 2 with JK movers. The staff, and moving teams all top notch. I had family antiques and crystal..all moved perfectly..
Not a scratch on the walls, railings and doors. They have moving down to a science. Moving can be stressful and they respected my concerns with sincerity.
My moving crew did a great job. They moved everything out of my old house and everything where I wanted it in my new house. Very organized inventory system. My move went smoothly with JK Moving. I saved so much money on their recycled box pickup. Thanks JK
I came online to find reviews of various moving companies and was surprised to find such a negative review of JK Moving.
I had such a great experience with JK the last time I moved that I've asked them to come and give us an estimate for our next one in a few weeks.
We did most of the packing ourselves to save money. We were just moving across town, so no storage or long-distance delivery was required.
I asked them to send at least 1 person on the crew that spoke English well - they did that. The 4-man crew was fast and efficient. They put 1 guy in the kitchen to pack our stuff in there & the other 3 worked on emptying the house. By the time they were done, the kitchen was ready to go - they arrived at 0800 and we pulled away from the old house at 1230.
They stopped for lunch & met me at our new house at 1400. They put down stuff to protect the carpet in the house and unloaded everything in about 2 hours. Even though only 1 guy on the crew was fluent in English, the rest spoke enough to ask questions & understand answers about where which boxes & things went. My piano wasn't even out of tune!
In the whole thing, only 1 plate was broken. ONE plate. That's it. The experience was excellent, with absolutely no problems at all. I expect the same experience in my next move.
Movers pilfered expensive jewelry during my international move. Items were in a room the movers were told not to touch. Instead Dwayne took it upon himself to completely pack the master suite unsupervised. Six weeks later our stuff is delivered to Europe and the unpacking begins and continues for months.
The earrings my husband bought for me for our wedding are now gone and their answer to my claim is that I should have told them they were missing on the day the room was packed. Now how was I supposed to know if they were stolen or packed? By this logic I should have demanded they remove the boxes from the truck and unpack them until I find my earrings. These people have you over a barrel and they take every advantage for themselves. You are rarely so vulnerable as when 3 strangers are packing up your home. I am convinced they purposely spread out and hurry so that you cannot watch them all or catch them stealing.
If it weren't for my employer demanding that the movers pack everything, I would never tolerate packers. As it is, I will absolutely REFUSE in the future to ever let JK Moving into my home.
Don't use them for your move.
JK Moving initially impressed us with their professionalism. They came to our home with an iPad to do the estimate and seemed to know what they were doing. My husband is a woodworker with several items of heavy equipment that require special care, so we provided photos and weight estimates via e-mail and were assured that they could handle these and that we would be well under our 17,000 lb allowance. We had taken pains to purge, even renting a dumpster to reduce the amount that we would move, and they are the experts, or so we thought.
I was suspicious when they refused to separate out my professional gear, but they had reassured me that we would be under the allowed weight, so I didn't continue to protest this.
After the move there was no mention of any overage, and only minor damage (scratched items here and there, but not as bad as previous moves).
The job I moved for didn't work out and we had to move back at our own expense within 6 months. That move cost $17,070 with Absolute Moving Co. of Virginia Beach, VA, including packing and labor.
22 months later I get a notice of government debt. When I make inquiries I'm told that J K Moving billed the government for moving over 45,000 lbs!! That is nearly three times my allowance!! And of course no professional gear. Naturally, J K Moving has already been paid by the government, but I have to pay for the difference, over $23,000 of debt. When I attempted to contact J K Moving about the discrepancy, they stonewalled me. I have been appealing the debt with DFAS for the past 2 years but my credit is ruined by the debt and my wages have been garnished.
If you are assigned J K Moving for a PCS move, all I can advise is do it yourself. If you have had a similar experience with this mover, please contact me as I believe that this company should be investigated for fraud.
First, this was not an everyday move, this was a Permanent Change of Station (PCS). With that comes certain obligations on the part of the mover and JK failed every part. Communication was impossible, there seemed to be no consistancy or proper person to deal with, their site says you are provided with a "move coordinator", we sure weren't. many messages had to be relayed to JK through their contracted estimator and still it fell on deaf ears.
From their own site "Trained at our very own facilities, our full-time crews will treat your property and your belongings as if they were there own. Critical areas of the home will be prepped before the move to minimize damage, and every item will be carefully wrapped and placed and appropriately boxed for maximum protection." The packers were pleasant enough, but they slammed books in with unwrapped antique silver items, they left items in drawers, desk, file cabinets, plastic boxes and wherever else they could to get done quicker. Furniture was not wrapped and protected. The pickup driver was angry about their job when he arrived. He had to do a great deal of packing, but there was a lack of packing materials.
When the goods arrived at our new home the delivery guys pulled off a number of broken items and they said with some just glue it. Not acceptable. This was said about an antique harpsichord and the side was completely broken off, breaking the soundboard.
Beds are supposed to be set up as well. However, despite my disability which causes severe back pain, I was forced to set up the beds. The delivery guys stood and watched as I did it. I have been unable to find papers and things like my car title (I know I should have secured that myself) because nothing is where it should be. Papers from file folders and off my desk have turned up with items from the shed and my daughter's room. Apparently wherever they could stuff them to use as wrapping and packing materials.
Several items were noted as damaged on delivery and we were told someone would contact us soon about repair or settlement, nothing happened. We filed a claim on 7-17-2011 which included our dining table leg broken completely off, dining chairs with legs broken off, a lamp made from stone from Mt Fuji (they can no longer take stone from the mountain to make items or for repairing items) and nothing. I called a month after the appraiser came out and got an email that by contract they have 60 days to make a settlement offer, but that one would be forthcoming in a week. Nothing. Now I am willing to bet that any offer will be a low-ball one and this will drag on for months if not years in resolving.
If you care anything about your items don't use this company. Supposedly people on PCS are better protected than the average customer, so if they would do these things to us guess how they would treat anyone else. Money can never replace or properly repair my items, so beware of JK Moving.
After being told that our new home was not ready to move into at the last minute, I was feeling really stressed. JK Moving was the only thing that went right during our move. Our movers showed up on short notice to pack up my belonging and stored them for me until our new home was ready. They were on time to pack me up and move me in. They worked quickly and efficiently; making sure that all of the boxes were placed in the right rooms. They also did a great job at assembling the furniture which is a really pain, especially the beds from Ikea. Thank you so much for all of your help.
While the moving service was professional, the packing service was quite lackluster.
They sent over two inexperienced and untrained packers who couldn't speak English and they were accompanied by an English-speaking supervisor who was mostly absent. About two hours into the project the supervisor made a whistle stop by my place and said they should finish by 2:00 or 3:00 O'clock. They finished at 6:00. Furthermore, the boxes were packed very inefficiently, which ran up the box count. (As an example, when I unpacked I found a single shot glass wrapped with an entire huge sheet of mover's wrapping paper.) Since JK Moving charges by the hour and the box count, the charges far exceeded the estimate. I feel as though I bankrolled a training class for JK Moving's packers.
A good indicator of a business establishment's commitment to their business is their response when matters don't go well. I am sorry to say that JK Moving failed miserably in this regard. Several attempts that I made to reach the decision makers at JK Moving went completely ignored, forcing me to file a dispute through my credit card company. JK Moving, at a loss for an argument, resorted to lying to my credit card company and telling them that I increased the scope of the work. I recommend dodging this cagey outfit in favor of a more reputable business.
After interviewing 4 moving companies to relocate my family from Virginia to South Carolina, we settled on JKMOVING for several reasons. First, the gentleman who came for the estimate was very personal, professional, and detailed. Second, the price was reasonable. Next, they could deliver our belongings fast. Finally, Louis said that they would be able to pack and load without us being present, when most companies would not. This was very important to us, because we have no family in the area to help, so I was told by Louis that I could provide them with a key, so they could take care of it for us, even though it was not a typical or ideal situation. He said if it meant getting the sale, they would make it work, and those were his exact words. On the day of the move, December 26, our moving team arrived 45 minutes late. I walked them through the house and had them make sure everything was good to go to get packed. They said that they would not be able to pack some things that I had left there like cleaning products, oils, etc., and I told them to leave it for the cleaning company. I gave them a key to the house, as discussed with Louis, and Ray, the mover, was very surprised. He had not been informed of our agreement, but went ahead with the packing. I told him you call me if he needed anything and told him my husband would be back the next day. We left for South Carolina The next morning, my husband boarded a plane for Virginia, and he went back to the house. He was given some liquids and some batteries to take that could not be packed, and he got in the car and drove to South Carolina again in our other car after being told he was no longer needed. Later that day, I received a call from Ray letting me know that they were unable to get our queen bed frame down the stairs and that they had already damaged the walls. While on the phone, one of the other movers was able to get it down. I asked Ray to please send a picture of the damage, which he did. He sent 3 from his cell phone. He said it wasn't that bad and asked me to not file a claim if possible, because he would have to personally pay for the damage. On Thursday December 29, our items were delivered. We went through the bingo sheet, and everything that was loaded was here. There were two boxes of nonperishable foods that they asked if they could not unpack and a box with a Christmas tree as well, so I said it would be no problem if they left those items boxed. I went upstairs when they said they were finished to find that the queen bed wasn't put together, mirror wasn't put back on the dresser, and nursery dresser wasn't finished being put together, so I asked them to finish that, snd they did. While they were doing that, I found another box that they had put in a closet, so I started to unpack it myself. Ray thoughtthe box was empty and threw it in the yard with my things still in it. It was obvious that they were getting tired, understandably, and we're rushing to get out of there. I was given forms to sign and was told that they were to confirm that everything from the bingo sheet was present. I signed, tipped them each $20, and they left. After I fed my baby, I went to the formal living area to find 6 more boxes not unpacked or discarded. We paid for a full unpack, and I was guaranteed by Louis that all of the boxes and packing materials would be removed, which was not the case. I also found a nightstand with a knob missing and with a bingo sticker strategically placed on an area with a big chunk of wood missing. They also left our patio furniture in the driveway. I decided that I wasn't going to make a big deal about it, because the guys were really nice and polite, and I felt bad that they had done so much hard work for us, even though it's a service we paid for. I have a heart for people. The next thing I did was attempt to wash clothes in my previously perfectly fine, 2 year old washer, but water gushed out the door, because it was damaged. I contacted JK, and they are supposidly sending a check for the repair. I made sure to mention that I hoped that this would not reflect negatively on Ray or the other movers. The next day, I realized that several items from our house in Virginia were not here. I contacted my realtor, who confirmed that two of the rooms in our house had not been packed or moved. Obviously, they wouldn't be on the bingo sheet, because they were ignored. Several garage items were also left. The items were wall pictures, rugs, hard hats, glasses, laundry, toilet paper holders, and similar items, which value about $400 to $500. The realtor also told me that the house was left a mess with McDonald's cups, moveing tape all over the floors, and light bulbs everywhere. Next, my cleaning company called to inform me that our hardwood floors had an area of damage. I called JKMOVING and expressed my concerns, and I was told someone would call me back. I received a call from Patricia and Mr. Zell, who had me on speaker phone. Instead of an apology, an offer to remedy my concerns, I was told that it is against the law for movers to be at my house without someone being there snd that I was wrong for allowing them to be there and for giving them a key. I was told that Louis had worked there for 20 years and that he says he never agreed to any of our arrangements. I was told that they may fire Ray for believing me. I was spoken to very rudely and was basically scolded and called a liar. I tried to contact Lous personally, but he will not answer or return my calls. If this is against the law, then why did they do it? I was present before they packed and explained the plan prior to it taking place. They had the opportunity right there to not do it. They could have called the office and confirmed that it was ok for us not to be there, but they didn't. Nobody communicated within the company, and it's not my fault. It is my fault for trusting Louis, who I guess just wanted the sale. I should have had that part in writing, but unfortunately, I didn't. I learned a great lesson from this I guess, but it still is not right! I pleaded with Mr. Zell to please just be a human being and help me ship it all here, but he won't hear it. He also said that despite the pictures sent from Ray's phone, that I can't prove any of the damages. He said also that I should have read my contact. What contract? No one can answer that question either. All I have prior to the move is an estimate with basic information, confirmation emails from Shirley with moving tips, and Louis'sword. Clearly, somebody messed up at my expense.
